In Eastern Myanmar the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) of 721 per 100,000 live births is more than 3 times the Myanmar national average and over 100 times the Australian average. In partnership with Earth Mission Asia (EMA) we have been able to build a specially designed Birth Unit in a remote area of Eastern Myanmar. This facility will help address the shocking MMR in the area and provide a safe, accessible and quality place for women to deliver their babies. It will also ensure that women have access to quality antenatal services including ultrasound.
The Birth Unit has been built and now we are inviting you to help us fit out the unit with strong and essential equipment. This will enable the staff and students at the clinic to bring essential care for mothers and families in the area.
Use this form to choose an item or make a general donation. You can also go to our shop to choose your specific item. We would also love you to fundraise yourself and you can do this by clicking the button below. All contributions towards the birth unit fit-out will be tax deductible.
THANK YOU for making a real difference to the birthing experience for the women in this remote area.
